Although she initially let her older brother, Kadin, do most of the talking, it didn’t take long for Brynn to find her voice and share her vibrant personality. Known as the life of the party, Brynn had a remarkable talent for making others laugh and feel loved. Her passion for baking quickly earned her the title of the family baker and cake decorator, showcasing her creativity and skill.
Throughout her childhood, Brynn excelled in a variety of sports, including gymnastics, softball, basketball, volleyball, archery, and track and field. Her love for archery allowed her to bond with her dad, brother, and coach/friend, Larry, as they participated in state and national competitions. Together, they cherished moments spent hunting and fishing as a family.
As she grew older, Brynn found her niche in softball and track, most recently shining in javelin. Her talent was undeniable, winning the Howard Wood Relays in her freshman year and claiming victory at the South Dakota State Track Meet during her sophomore and junior years. Brynn currently holds the state record, a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Brynn was more than just a talented athlete; she was a beacon of light in the lives of everyone she encountered. She loved fiercely and selflessly, always wishing the best for her friends and family. Her infectious spirit and unwavering support made her a cherished friend to many.
Brynn is survived by her loving parents, Brendan and Jacki; her devoted brother, Kadin; her special dog, Penny; and her grandparents: Dean and Karen Nelson, Becky McQuistion, Doug and Wanda Pol, and great-grandma Reta Nelson. She leaves behind a close-knit family that includes aunts, uncles, and beloved cousins: Brittany (Nelson) and Mike Kieffer, Cole, Kane, and Kinley; Lynsey (Pol) and Joe Thornell, Jaylyn, Layney, and Logan; Kelli (Pol) and Brian Vanderwerff, Blakely, Watson, and Maverick, along with many younger cousins who looked up to her and whom she loved dearly.
Brynn is preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Gary Nelson; Jerome and Shirley Sether; Ray and Helen McQuistion; Howard and Grace Pol; and her cousin, Hudson Vanderwerff.
A Celebration of Brynn’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Calvary Lutheran Church, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.
