Death; Philippine Paris Missing, 19-year-old student found buried in Paris wood: The body of a missing student has been discovered buried in the Bois de Boulogne, a large wood located in Paris. The victim, a 19-year-old named Philippine, was last seen on September 20 at 14:00 after having lunch at Paris Dauphine University, where she was pursuing her studies. She had planned to visit her parents afterward, but when she failed to arrive, her family raised the alarm, prompting a search.
On the following Saturday, a group of around 50 family members and friends began searching the expansive 845-hectare Bois de Boulogne after Philippine’s mobile phone was geolocalised to that area. Tragically, they discovered her body buried within the woods.
The body has been formally identified as Philippine, according to reports from Le Parisien. In response to this shocking development, the Paris public prosecutor’s office has opened a murder investigation.
Authorities have indicated that there are “numerous signs of abuse and injuries” on her body, heightening the urgency of the investigation. Additionally, witnesses have reported seeing a man in the vicinity wielding a pickaxe, raising further suspicions about the circumstances surrounding her death. Despite the investigation being underway, the public prosecutor has not disclosed additional details, and no arrests have been made so far.
This incident adds to a troubling narrative in recent months, with other mysterious cases emerging in the area, including a long-running disappearance case involving another teenager and the unsettling discovery of severed feet found in shoes near the river Seine. As the investigation progresses, the community remains in shock, grappling with the loss and seeking justice for Philippine.
